random moose by luck on safari small

Opened in 2013 by photographer Fredrik Broman, and Aurora Safari Camp is the first Arctic “glamping site” in the world and unique to northern Scandinavia. The camp is located by the Råne river in Swedish Lapland. Here you and the family can experience a real Swedish safari adventure! The clean air, the adventurous nature and not least the starry sky you experience at night here, with the Milky Way just above your head, is pure magic.

Experience nature’s impressive spectacle and the power of water. We check into the hotel. In summer the water is relatively warm, in spring and autumn this is an experience for Vikings! Wild swimming.  Dinner at the hotel (at your own expense, but we have reserved a table for you). Experience the midnight light.

Aurora Safari Camp has minimal impact on the environment around it, compared to “normal” hotels. The water you drink has been filtered through a sand bed, you have eco-toilets, a urine separation system, and waste from the site is transported to a biogas plant in a nearby town, which is then converted into fuel for the municipal buses. The birch wood used to heat the tents is from local suppliers. Birch wood is a biofuel, and birch grows fast. Transport to the camp takes place with a modern snowmobile with a catalytic system and a very energy-efficient engine (consumption approx. 8-10 liters per 100 km). The camp is not connected to the main grid. There are solar cells and LED lights that provide all the necessary light.
