Copper_House-23 small

This almost extraterrestrial place is actually located on planet earth, but it looks more like the city of the Ewoks in Star Wars, than a hotel. This very different boutique hotel is located deep in the Balinese jungle at Ubud, Bali’s spiritual center. A magnificent combination of buildings made of bamboo and teak. Here it’s easy to feel a little spiritual, you get close to nature and maybe, you take home with you a feeling that everything may not be so quite straightforward and crystal clear between heaven and earth!

Sample Itinerary

Copper House: Copper_House-23

The perfect romantic hideaway – here it is easy to feel romantic, and the hotel also has many newlyweds. Copper House is located in the treetops overlooking the Ayung River. Your home is completely open to one side, but you still feel completely private and safe. The bed is of course under the roof, and protected by an air-conditioned mosquito net. Turn off the light and take a bath in the beautiful copper bathtub, look up at the moon and listen to the sounds of the evening and night.

Elora & Orin House: Elora_and_Orin-13

Elora & Orin House got its name from the owner John’s children, and this is a two-storey house that was originally part of the family’s private home, so here’s lots of atmosphere – the family loved this house. This wooden house works well for families or couples of friends, and up to 4 people can stay here. There are two bedrooms with separate bathroom. Sit and enjoy the view from the sofa on the terrace.

Moon House: Moon_House-6

Moon House is perhaps the hotel’s most romantic house – an architect’s dream project and extremely nicely designed. The house has a completely unobstructed view of the river and the rice fields, and here is a good sofa to sit on while looking at the landscape. Own jaquzzi very close to the house and you also have your own private pool. There are nets hanging over the pool, perfect for relaxing in during the day. The bed is protected by an air-conditioned mosquito net.

Padi House: Padi_House-24

Padi House (Padi means “rice field”) is an elegant house with fine views of the Sayan Valley and parts of the landscaped gardens and lush nature that are in the area. Fresh water flows by the house, giving the house a soothing atmosphere. The water ends up in the natural pool you have access to at the house. The decor is authentic and special. John and Cynthia (the owners of the place) have selected some of the most unique treasures from various travels to decorate Padi House – beautiful rugs from Morocco, batik from Indonesia, lacquered furniture from Myanmar and various antique details from all over Asia.

The tents: Tent-12

Experience life in the jungle up close – sleep in a tree. The tents are mounted on flexible platforms in mahogany trees – which also stand on top of a cliff overlooking the Ayung River Valley. You get to the top of the cliff by climbing a spiral staircase – a bit of an adventure. Your bed is embraced by a mosquito net (which can be folded in) and the bed may look a bit like an oversized fruit basket! The views are absolutely stunning and you need to choose that kind of accommodation if you are a dreamer, an adventurer or want an ultimate romantic experience with your partner.

Udang House: Udang_House-11

Udang House (udang means “shrimp”) offers a unique hotel experience. Come in and feel how the chin falls down as you discover that your feet are standing on sheets of armored glass and that fish and shrimp are swimming underneath. Here is also a private terrace where the local frogs and grasshoppers hold a concert every night. A small fountain fills the air with relaxing sounds. Parts of the ceiling are also made of glass, so here you can see moonlight and clouds, sun and maybe raindrops before you fall asleep.

Many of the raw materials come from the hotel’s own, organic kitchen gardens, and what you do not produce yourself, you buy locally.
