Six Senses Zighy Bay is a hotel built on sustainability principles where they care for the environment and look after local schools, hospitals and infrastructure. Since 2016, Six Senses Zighy Bay has involved hosts, villagers, the local municipality and even guests in tree planting. In total, 80 percent of the waste created on the property (organic or glass) is recycled on site.

They produce their own bottled water via reverse osmosis and the salt water, which is filtered out during the process, is used in the salt water pool, the largest in the Middle East! Where possible, shopping is as local as possible, so you can often see the hotel’s chefs down at Dibba Fish Market at dawn, bringing the liver of the locals and unparalleled freshness to what’s on your plate.

It runs a number of different projects such as Ghostbusters of the Gulf – which trains local fishermen to remove “ghost nets” and save marine life that have been caught in them. The sea is also cleaned monthly

Social responsibility – Six Senses’ project offers financial support for women’s associations, medical assistance for villagers and sponsorship for the local sports club Dibba.

At the beginning of the year, the hotel supported the local hospital in Dibba by building a new radiology unit. In addition, basic medical necessities are provided for the villagers; they help finance expensive devices such as hearing aids and they also offer financial support for special medical cases. The hotel also contributed to the financing of a marine running track.

They are associated with Zighy Village and local schools in the neighboring town of Dibba, where they support the community. Examples include tuition assistance, infrastructure funding and strategic support to support the education of students at the local girls’ school, Sakina Bent Al Hussein, and at the local boys’ school Amru Bin Al-Aas. By sponsoring programs and activities that improve women’s equality, you support their mission to upgrade their skills and thus their future prospects.
