Sample Itinerary

Day 1.: wild-9

On arrival at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport you will be met by our driver / guide and listen to a briefing. Now begins your exciting safari adventure, let the beautiful chaos of Nairobi lie behind you, take you south across the beautiful and seemingly endless Athi plain.

Amboseli National Park at the foot of the majestic Mount Kilimanjaro. Arrive in time for lunch at Tawi Lodge, and a little later you set out on your first safari. You return to the lodge in time to freshen up for dinner. Before and after dinner you can enjoy the fire, listen to the magical sound of the African bush – all under the spectacular African sky, where the stars seem brighter than anywhere else.

Day 2.: wild-4

Spend the whole day in Amboseli with the day’s activities planned with your guide so you can enjoy all the activities included during your stay – bird watching, morning, afternoon and evening safaris.

The elephants are without a doubt the kings of the park and they are in large numbers. These elephants can be easily seen and photographed due to the flat terrain. The elephants in Amboseli, which is also considered to be among the largest in the country, mainly enjoy the swamp, where they get cold water, which they share with hippos, which hide under the papyrus.

The elephants share their homes with the Burchell’s zebra, Thomson’s and Grants gazelles, bufallo, warthog, black rhino, Maasai giraffe, impala, water bucks and dik-dik are also among the grasshoppers here. Babies and recruiting monkeys live in the scarce forests. Lions, hyenas, wild cats, jackals and caracals represent the predators. Cheetahs and leopards are not that common.

Enjoy one last day in Amboseli before traveling to the Masai Mara, the Kenyan coast or Zanzibar.

Each cottage has its own porch with wooden terrace. They all have great views of the highest mountain in Africa, even from your bed or while lying in your bathtub.

Each house has a private bathroom equipped with both bath and shower. Each cottage has its own fireplace. Lighting and water systems are solar powered.

Swim in the pool filled from the borehole, solar-heated but pleasantly cold for a refreshing morning dip, afternoon or evening dip. If your timing is right, you will enjoy your dip while watching the elephants swim in the nearby water hole right in front of you. There is also a children’s pool for the little ones.

Good to know about Amboseli National Park: Amboseli’s delicate and beautiful ecosystems show a wide variety of wildlife with more than 50 mammal species. Amboseli is Kenya’s third most visited park and covers several marsh areas. The park consists of a mixture of forest, wetland and grasslands.

Travel Ethics: The Masai people are a proud people, always ask before the shooting. Bring small notes in local currency to be able to shop local crafts in the villages. Reach out to those you meet – a code of courtesy here.
Mobile networks and email: Email and internet access are available at the hotel. The mobile network works well.

Your passport must be valid for a minimum of 6 months after departure from Kenya. In the event that a visa is required for Scandinavian citizens, this will be stated in the information we send to you after you have booked. It is your own responsibility to provide a visa for all travelers in your company. You must apply for a visa before traveling online.

You can apply for a “Single entry visa” or “Transit visa” or a “Multiple Entry and East Africa Visa”
E-visa is mandatory and we recommend that you get it in place at least 14 days before departure. Go towww.ecitizen.go.keand have your passport, passport photo and credit card ready.

  2. Select “register as a visitor”. As part of the process, you will receive a confirmation email along the way.
  3. After logging in, select the “Department of Immigration Services” section
  4. Select “Submit Application” and “Visa – Kenya ”
  5. Choose the type of visa that suits you best, read the instructions and fill out the form. You will need to scan your passport along the way, and if you do not fill in all the required information, you will be denied a visa and have lost the fee paid.
  6. Pay by credit card (Visa / Mastercard accepted)
  7. Wait for message from the authority. The process can take up to 7-10 business days.
  8. After receiving the message, log in to your account again, download and print your visa.
  9. Present your visa on arrival in Kenya in passport control.

Packing: The days in Amboseli are usually warm, but evenings and mornings can get chilly. Bring a thicker sweater, good shoes to walk in. Take a small backpack to carry water, binoculars, camera in. Soft bags are easier to pack in the cars you travel with, you fly is a maximum weight of 15 kg pp. Mosquito nets are available, but bring mosquito spray.
