The boutique resort is located in the southern part of Sri Lanka near the charming and historic trading port of Galle, and consists of seven private villas and two colonial-style mansions. A dip in your private saltwater pool offers views of rice fields, jungle and a Buddhist monastery, while peacocks, monkeys and tropical birds are some of your local neighbours. A yoga pavilion, tea plantation and garden are other places where you can really relax and relax. You also want a private butler who makes sure you have everything you need, throughout your stay.

The resort

Sri Lanka’s exotic wildlife is a valuable part of the resort and an integral part of the guests’ experience. As much as possible of the natural surroundings has been preserved and the perfect harmony with nature has been maintained. Haritha Villas + Spa is a boutique hotel consisting of two colonial mansions that share a large saltwater pool and 7 independent, modern villas with their own saltwater pools. The property also has a communal saltwater pool, restaurant, lounge with library, Sala-Sala and spa facilities.

The resort consists of seven private villas and two mansions with space for up to six people. All are privately located with their own pool and own butler.

Jungle Spa

Haritha Spa is located in a lush jungle environment with a focus on health and well-being. Here, a consultation with the resort’s own Ayurvedic doctor is offered, followed by a tailor-made menu for each individual guest.

Delicious food

The resort is known for its exquisite cuisine, with a mix of local and international dishes. Every morning the chefs go to the local fish market and pick up the day’s catch which is prepared and served in the restaurant which is beautifully situated overlooking the infinity pool. Fruit and vegetables are collected from our own garden and only local ingredients are used.

The beach

The resort offers free tuk-tuk transport that takes you to the nearest sandy beach in three minutes.

Galle Fort

Don’t miss the charming city of Galle where influences from Holland, England and Sri Lanka mix. Stroll through the ancient Galle Fort and admire the historical treasures left behind by past conquerors.

Activities

If you want to explore more of what is nearby, we can put together a program of activities such as diving, snorkelling, surfing, whale watching, visits to a tea plantation, turtle hatching and much more. A stay at Haritha Villa & Spa can be perfectly combined with a longer tour of Sri Lanka.

Weather: Sri Lanka has a tropical and hot climate. The summer monsoon from May to October causes the most precipitation to fall in the west, while the east coast receives the most rain from November to January with the winter monsoon. The average temperature varies from about 16 ºC in the central highlands in winter, where frost can sometimes occur, to 33 ºC in the lowlands during summer. The annual mean temperature is between 28 ºC and 31 ºC. The hottest month is May, at the beginning of the rainy season.

Haritha Villa & Spa has a strong focus on sustainability and works continuously to develop this further.

Sustainability today:

– Plastic-free resort
– Farm to Table concept where many products such as fruit, vegetables and herbs come from your own garden or you have acquired pure organic products.
– Heat recovery system where the AC also heats up the water in the hot water boiler in all villas.
– In the colonial mansions we have solar energy to heat the water
– Organic tea plantation (own tea served at the resort)
– Aims to use as many local products as possible to avoid carbon footprint
– Energy star-classified cooling systems
– Won in all the villas in a bottle
– AC/LED lighting everywhere

Plan for 2023/24

– Composting
– Introduce biodegradable products (paint, office supplies, glue, paper products, pens, etc
– Green Globe certifications
– Make your own mulch (all leaves and other garden clippings that are mulched and reused in the garden surface)
