Chongwe Camp, Lower Zambezi, Zambia
Zambia is a fantastic safari destination – especially for those who want to experience a safari far away from it all. In Lower Zambezi National Park, Zambia there are few campers and hotels which makes this safari more wild and relatively untouched – a reason why many of our guests call this place “My happy place”.
Chongwe Camp is a 30-minute flight from Lusaka, Zambia. In addition to wild safari experiences with great chances of seeing leopard and wild dogs, the area is also known for its impressive range of different kinds of safari activities. Enjoy classic jeep safaris and walking safaris on foot, take to the rivers on a boat cruise or canoe safari, or why not try tiger fishing. Replenish the wild – let the wild be wild…
Time & Tide Safaris who operate Chongwe Camp are committed to conserving and protecting Africa’s vulnerable wildlife and habitats in our areas of operation. In Zambia, we proudly support local conservation organizations with anti-poaching, environmental education, human-wildlife conflict and wildlife rehabilitation efforts.
Thread mindfully – leave small footprints on the environment
Our eco-luxury campers have the latest in environmentally friendly technology called evening breeze, this innovative system cools the inside of the tent without sacrificing comfort. Our campers are built using local techniques and sustainable local materials and run on solar energy, which has minimal impact on the surrounding environment.
Invest locally – benefit the local
Chongwe’s vision is to uplift and empower by investing in the people, places and wildlife of our beautiful places. We are dedicated to hiring locally, ensuring that Time + Tide’s efforts go back to the community in which we operate, as well as supporting the local community by sourcing most of our fresh produce from nearby communities.
Care for our community – take care of our local communities
Time + Tide’s Foundation runs initiatives to strengthen society in Zambia and Madagascar. With a key focus on inclusive, safe learning for vulnerable children, the foundation’s philosophy is simple: to invest in the education of our future guardians to preserve our majestic landscapes, extraordinary wildlife and rich cultures for tomorrow.
